Why Changing The Order Works:

One of the most common fixes for a conflict between two control panel devices or system extensions is to change the name of one of the culprits to make it load earlier or later (they are loaded alphabetically during startup).

This seems rather strange to many people but there is a simple reason why it sometimes works. It has to do with something many control panels and extensions do while they are loading that is usually called “patching a trap.”
